This sculpture, Joy, is more-or-less as self-portrait, but can certainly be anyone who has gone through a trial of any kind. This past year, I have battled (and won) cancer. I had a chicken-breast sized malignant sarcoma in my leg and following 25 radiation treatments and surgery, I am cancer free! God is good.
I will do follow-up MRIs and CTs for the next five years, but right now there is no cancer in my body!!!
This piece represents someone a bit off balance, but still moving forward. The logs she is balancing on form an arrow, kind of pointing her straight ahead. She is looking at a butterfly - because this year has changed her and taught her to always focus on the God of all creation. Based on a beautiful 3/4" veriegated green granite and walnut, this piece measures 21"h x 10"w x 15"l. Price is $3,100 and does not include shipping.

My Grandma, Anna, had chickens as did most families of that time. I never got to see her feed her chickens, but have photos. Grandma was a strong woman; she had eight children, was a hard worker, a great baker and one tough cookie!!! I miss her dearly. She fed her chickens and her outstretched hand shows how she "fed" everyone else as well.
